With a background in landscape architecture and urban design, I have long been infatuated with the cities around us. As a landscape architect, I strive to design public spaces that reflect the needs of our communities; as a baker, I look to be a tasty resource for those same communities.
The pastries, cookies, and breads I make are—yes—just fancy carbs, but they’re also much more than that.
Throughout my life, food has been more about the people you share it with than the food itself. Although, once you’ve had a flaky, buttery piece of perfection, it’s hard to go back to the grocery store version.
After spending a few months in Copenhagen, I became determined to bring home a few elements of the Scandinavian way of life. One of those was learning how to share the pastries I enjoyed overseas with my family and friends in Denver.
And so, here we are—still working to perfect those baked goods and sharing them with friends, family, and neighbors as a way to be an active participant in building a butter-loving community in north Denver.
Nabo Bakehouse has become a passion project from someone who has spent their career planning, designing, and detailing in order to build something meaningful, functional and sustainable.
Thank you for being curious enough to read thus far. :)
